K-ETA is mandatory for nationals from visa-free entry countries who enter Korea without a visa. You should apply for the K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to boarding the flight bound for the Republic of Korea. You can apply for K-ETA website ( www.k-eta.go.kr ) or mobile app (K-ETA).
The temporary Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) exemption period—implemented as part of the " Visit Korea Year (2023-24)" campaign to revitalize tourism—will be extended for 1 more year until December 31, 2025.
Extended exemption period: Wednesday, January 1, 2025 – Wednesday, December 31, 2025 KST
If you are a citizen of a country temporarily exempted from the K-ETA, you will receive a pop-up message indicating that you are eligible for K-ETA exemption when you select your nationality during the K-ETA application process.
If you are a citizen of an exempt country, but still wish to apply for the K-ETA for various electronic travel authorization benefits such as not having to fill out an arrival card when entering Korea, you may apply for the K-ETA. A separate application fee will be incurred.
Previously issued K-ETAs can be used until the expiration date. No refunds will be given for previously issued K-ETAs.
